IMO watching m...I own both Sable and black and tan. IMO watching my sables run the yard is like watching a moveable work of art. The colors ripple with the muscles under their coat. Also, I have found that they change color over the years. Kiz was much "redder" in her younger days than she is now. <br />Judges however, should be color blind when selecting their placements. Color has no bearing on the ability of the dog to perform its job. <br />Granted, a "washed out", dry coated sable may not be found to be as esthetically pleasing as its plushy, rich pigmented counterpart...and if the two dogs being judged are of equal quality it could potentailly impact the placement in the lineup. In my opinon NO Judge should disregard a dog based solely on its color.
